The Healthy and Wealthy YOU: Are Ya Dry?

Water, water, water...Do we know the importance of good water when it comes to our good health?

Water, water, water...Do we know the importance of good water when it comes to our good health?

The other night I was invited by the good folks at RichDreams to horn in on one of their very rare conference calls, so I moved heaven and earth to be there.

It turned out that they were discussing a subject I am passionate about: WATER.  I have ranted and raved to anyone who had an ear about how important water is to our well being.  One of my pals, Jeff Wellman, teases me all the time about the “three foot cylinder” I carry around with me.

Dr. Batmanhelije, God rest his soul, taught us all about the way water works in our bodies to help us be well.  He was a medical doctor in a prison when he was told he should heal the sick people in the prison population.  He had no medicine so he used water and was astonished to see that ulcers were cured by means of only water, as well as a variety of other ailments!

Now, you must understand that the water available to them had not been assaulted by toxicity as our water supplies are today, but neither had they access to the fine filtration systems that are available today.  Cases in point: High Tech Health; BioPro Technology; even the brand Rich Dreams is touting.  Take your pick.

The correct amount of water to drink is 1/2 ounce for each pound of body weight.  So if you weigh 100 pounds you would drink 50 ounces of the good stuff.

SIDEBAR:  A hundred pounds?  Maybe when I was in sixth grade!  END SIDEBAR.

To be wealthy, you must be healthy.  To be healthy, you must drink your water!  It’s just part of what people need to do to take care of themselves.

We would not dream of neglecting the services we perform on our vehicles.  Yet we fail to drink water-or we pretend we drink water when in fact it is coffee.   We want to think that if it’s wet, it’s water but it’s not fair to your body to this way.

Water.  Organic whole foods.  Moderate amounts of protein.  Adequate, good quality sleep.  Whole foods supplements.  These things will contribute to your health so you can contribute your gifts to create your wealth!

Brush your teeth; wash your hands; mind your manners.  BE WELL!  It’s Christmas!  Being sick is no fun but being sick at Christmas is out of the question?

Please feel free to leave your comments; I wouldn’t expect you to agree, necessarily.  I hope you’ll follow me here, too:

H1N1 Flu: This is Getting on My Last Nerve!

Posted by admin on October 7th, 2009

Someone sent me the definitive explanation about the difference between Swine flu and Bird flu.  Here is the way to tell what you need in either case:  If it’s Bird flu, you need a TWEETment.  If it’s Swine flu, you should use OINKment.

So much noise is being made about the supply of vaccinations and whether injections or nasal spray is the better solution.  The television is off these days because everybody’s heard enough of the admonition, “Ask your doctor.”

Fooey!  A doctor will recommend MEDICINE and illness is so not about medicine.  Every health care worker whose face shows up on our TV screens or whose voice can be heard over the internet is yammering about the need for prevention and treatment.  And medicine.

Would it shock you to know that we do not need to resonate with illness?  Would you be astounded that we can ask for wellness and revel in receiving it?

SIDEBAR:  Remember the Bible verse -”Ask and it  shall be given you; seek and you will find; knock and it shall be opened to you.”?   Matthew 7:7  END SIDEBAR.

Dr. Roger Callahan determined that EVERYone, when asked, chose health over sickness.  Our biology knows on a cellular level that we deserve to be well.

So, here’s my deal:  Get plenty of rest.  Drink pure , filtered water and lots of it.  Eat your vegetables.  Make sure you are getting lots of whole foods, fruits, nuts, seeds, grains.  Eliminate sodas and gooey treats.  Brush your teeth.  Wash your hands.  Cultivate thoughts of well being.  Be grateful.  Say your prayers.

SIDEBAR:  Does it seem as if you’ve heard it all before?  I remind you that if three people tell you that you’re drunk, you’d better go lie down.  I’ve told you repeatedly about all the above.  JUST DO THOSE THINGS, please!  END SIDEBAR.

Need a boost in your current health regimen?  May I recommend Energy Medicine?  It is the wave of the future.  It is affordable, non invasive, non toxic and it will improve every aspect of your life.  HERE is where you’ll find the straight skinny about Energy Medicine.

Remember, you can’t be too rich or too well!

You may not agree with this assessment.  Or you might want to run up a flag and celebrate these ideas.  Either which way, please feel free to leave your comment on this very page.

The Healthy and Wealthy NEW You?

Posted by admin on September 11th, 2009

As you can see, we have a whole new LOOK at The Healthy and Wealthy You!

We still have the same OUTLOOK, though.  We are vitally interested in matters of health and we want to do whatever we can to help you improve your wealth, as well.

Change, as you know, can be difficult.  Whether it’s rearranging our living room furniture or putting up a new theme for a blog, we must adapt to new and better ways of doing things.

Before I came to understand the critical importance of drinking water I relied on fruit juice and-dare I admit it?-soda pop.  It was not easy to make the transition to drinking water in the beginning.

I’ve never been one to participate enthusiastically in any type of exercise but as I have shared the experience with a walking partner, that change has come more easily.

If health is your issue, we suggest you integrate necessary changes gradually.  Making an effort to incorporate more fruits and vegetables to your diet one day at a time will not fuel your resistance to change, for example.  You may find, as I did, that after a period of drinking good water, soda tasted like chemical to me.  I walked a bit further each day when I started a new walking regimen and each day has become easier.

Where your wealth is concerned, it’s important for you to monitor your expenses and live within your means.  It’s important to save as much as you can as often as you can.  This may call for changes in your spending habits or you may need to look for a class that teaches financial freedom and its principles.

I would offer, for those who may be interested in adding some income to the household, they look into the pregnant possibilities of internet marketing or affiliate marketing.  I can recommend a good coaching program.

One of the things we do as a part of this blog is to send out infrequent messages to our readers by email.  You are welcome to put your name and email into the box at the top right of this page and every so once in awhile you will find a short message in your in-box.  Sometimes we mention a product we like and want to share with you.  Sometimes it has to do with remedies or ideas.  We never mean to bother you; we just want you to know that you matter to us and you are important because you EXIST.

If you like our new look or even if you do not, won’t you add your comment to state your opinion?  Thanks oodles, people!

Holistic Health Articles: Let’s Drink for Good Health: Bottoms UP!

Some of us have taken water for granted. We took a drink of water when we were thirsty or if we ran out of our beverage of choice, but perhaps we did not really understand the critical need for good water in order to be truly well. However, if our health faltered or if we got an education in water, we began to pay closer attention.

I was surprised to learn that by the time I am thirsty, I am already beginning to be dehydrated! And even the least dehydration can cause stress hormones to rise to the point of brain damage! SIDEBAR: I don’t want to hear any comments from the peanut gallery about my brain damage! END SIDEBAR.

I was also astonished when I first learned that our brains are composed of 80% water!

Scientific studies indicate cognitive impairment can be reduced with the proper amount of dietary antioxidants, which help the body to be rid of toxicity. Water-good, clean water-is critical to this process.

I have always subscribed to the theory that our bodies heal themselves. But in order to heal properly, we need to be able to DE-toxify our systems. Every cell needs to be able to access the nutrition needed for repair. If even good water cannot enter our cells, allowing toxicity to exit, wellness will be denied.

The generally accepted rule of thumb for the proper amount of water to drink each day is ½ ounce of water for each pound of body weight. For instance, if you weigh 100 pounds, the ideal amount of water for you should be 50 ounces.

When this subject is broached, people will wail, “But I drink water all day long! Don’t tell me I’m not drinking enough water!” If you drink a proper AMOUNT of water and that water enters your cells correctly your body should be symptom free. If symptoms are an issue, you can be certain there is malabsorption, which creates a climate of acidity in the body. If your body cannot take in necessary nutrients the pH of your blood will reflect that there is a problem. The calcium and magnesium in your bones and teeth will be compromised. Osteoporosis is believed by many nutritionists to be the result of a lifetime of acidic stress, creating bone loss. Minerals, like the minerals we get from water, can minimize this kind of loss.

Symptoms that indicate the need for mineral-rich water can range from chronic fatigue and constipation to heartburn and migraine headaches. People whose bodies are literally dying for mineral-rich water can experience gastric upset or obesity, leg cramps and high blood pressure, just to mention a few of the issues raised when proper water is not ingested.

SIDEBAR: Could it be that children who have been identified as ADD or ADHD might benefit from mineral rich foods and water? END SIDEBAR.

That’s the PROBLEM; what is the SOLUTION?

The solution, of course is to have a proper water system installed in your home. There are many choices available from the kind of filter that not only cleans but mineralizes and magnetizes the water to the type that beams ultra-violet light on the water to kill any bacteria that might lurk there.

There are the systems which offer clean but dead water-Reverse Osmosis. If this type of water is used exclusively there will be health issues ensuing from water that has no life whatsoever. Reverse Osmosis water is clean but it is also devoid of minerals, rendering it useless for good health.

Simple kinesiology testing will prove to any Doubting Thomas the difference between tap water, filtered water, enhanced water, bottled water, and mineral enhanced water. It is almost comical to see the difference, really. Water you might never suspect to be deficient and not life supporting can make your muscles as weak as a kitten’s. Good, clean water with proper pH for your body will make you strong as an Iron Man Triathlon competitor!

Something else about water I’d like to share is a lesson I took from aging massage therapy instructors whose wisdom was golden:
1. Cold water constipates
2. Warm water lubricates
3. Hot water eliminates

Ridding the body of toxicity is as critical as taking in good water. This little admonition, learned as I sat at the feet of elderly, knowledgeable teachers, has proved to be very helpful to me in maintaining my own well being. I offer it to others with a heart full of hope that we all might help one another.

It’s important to pay strict attention to the role of water in your overall plan for health. After all, when you wear out your body, where are you going to live?

So, dear readers, let’s raise our water glasses high and toast one another’s good health! Cheers! Bottoms up!

Is Being Healthy and Wealthy a Balancing Act?

Posted by admin on April 15th, 2009

There may be degrees of wealth but are there degrees of health?

If you lose your health, you certainly stand to lose much of your wealth and you have no guarantee of regaining lost health.  If you have no wealth your health is very likely to suffer.

So, maybe we are talking about balance and harmony.

To accumulate wealth, one must set aside some earnings for saving.  Over time, that amount accumulates and given enough time, wealth can be amassed.

Health does not work quite so tangibly.  But, if you smoke or use drugs-yes, even the prescription kind-and live on snack foods and soda pop you will notice your health slipping away at some point in time.  That’s after you are so dog tired you can’t believe it and maybe even depressed. You feel no oomph to exercise and you prefer soda pop to water so there you go, right down the ole tubes.  Sick and tired and feeling very punk.

It’s not as if we expect you to be healthy and wealthy without guidance, for Heaven’s sake!  Here are a handful of great ideas to get you started:

  1. The Healing CodesThis is a simple protocol to turn your body’s healing mechanism to “ON” and help your body to do what it does best: heal itself.
  2. High Tech Health – I’m always ranting and raving about water and the need for proper hydration and minerals.  This is BASIC to life!  Not impor whole foods supplementstant: CRITICAL!
  3. BioPro – Here is where East meets West!  You can have health-giving whole foods supplements, protection from electropollution AND you can realize an income!
  4. Rapid Cash Marketing - I found out FROM EXPERIENCE that you can make money quickly by using the online strategies taught by this program and it is a residual income model!

One of the key ingredients to my health and wealth is this criteria:  IS IT FUN?  If you are not having fun you health AND your wealth will lose its balance and topple!

What Are YOU Drinking?

Posted by admin on October 20th, 2008

High Tech Health sells water ionizers and infrared saunas to help people naturally reverse the health deterioration resulting from our body’s constant accumulation of toxins from our polluted enviroment.  Have you visited the High Tech Health website yet?

Looking at this site reminds me of the ‘window shopping’ my parents and I did when I was a little girl in Omaha.  We would ooh and aah over the goods displayed, make mental notes and when it came time to make a purchase, we could make decisions based on our research.

High Tech Health sells a water ionizer that cleans your tap water while simultaneously making it an anti-oxidant. The water is also guaranteed to fix digestive problems in 30 days. Who wouldn’t want that?

Aren’t you curious what it LOOKS like?  I can tell you it is a very handsome addition to any kitchen and the benefits are phenomenal: a stronger immune system, smoother, shinier hair, softer skin, stronger fingernails and excellent taste.  Clear, clean, pure healthy water, loaded with antioxidants is certainly a list of advantages.

If your health is important to you it is imperative that you learn about the benefits of good water. Do YOU want to go ‘window shopping’ by clicking here: Water ?

Are You Up For a Challenge?

Posted by admin on October 15th, 2008

“The only way to keep your health is to eat what you don’t want, drink what you don’t like, and do what you’d rather not.”    –Mark Twain

Mark Twain’s assessment of how to be healthy hits the nail on the head, in most cases.  I don’t understand what it is about the human condition that causes us to prefer doing things “our way” or never changing the style of our lives and behavior, but that is the reality.

Here’s the thing, though: If you wear out your body, where will you live?  The chances are good you will wind up in a “facility”.  Or six feet under.

Simply by making a few changes, one at a time so it reduces the pain of change, you really can feel, look, and behave better!  Here are a few easy-to-do suggestions:

1.  Drink more Water

2.  Eat more raw foods and less red meat

3.  Move your feet and body more

4.  Get to bed at a decent hour

Please note that this list does not even mention cigarettes, alcohol, fat or salt!  Nobody is suggesting you recreate every aspect of your life to make changes.

Many years ago I took a notion to ramp up my health regimen by studying Macrobiotics, a Japanese way of living and eating.  I took every item of processed food out of the kitchen to make room for all the shitake mushrooms, tahini, tamari sauce and umboshi plums that necessitated my learning to cook in a new language.  I forfeited all dairy and meat.  It was a dramatic departure from my norm.  I had never eaten so much organic brown rice in all my put togethers!  The results were dramatic, too:  I lost many pounds of body weight but I suffered with a terrible craving for sweets!

Life goes on.  Eventually my fervor was reduced to normal.  I’m grateful for all that I learned about food and nutrition through that period.  I can now recommend to YOU that you follow the four steps outlined above.  Don’t follow my example and go off the deep end!

So, here is my challenge:  Choose to substitute good, clean, pure, healthy WATER for the soda pop or whatever else you are chugging down.  Instead of mowing down on fries or whatever else may be on a menu, add a veggie or two a day to your diet.  If you are more daring, add a piece of fresh fruit to that, as well.   Move your body more!  Take ‘walk breaks’ instead of coffee breaks or smoke breaks.  BREATHE as you move!  STRETCH!  SMILE!  And finally, Go to bed before you are exhausted!

If you take this challenge you may be astonished at the differences you notice.

When you are ready for more, I’ll be around to make more suggestions.  Easy does it.  I don’t want YOU to have cravings and segue as foolishly as I did!

Are You Skinning By?

Posted by admin on October 10th, 2008

According to the media, Wall Street, and word around town, times are tough.  When the economy is stressed, people pull back.  We stay home and cocoon.

Would you like to know how you can pamper yourself in the comfort of your own home, contribute to your good mental, physical, and emotional health without spending a dime?

I want to teach you a technique I learned as a massage therapist.  When I was taught this method we used shower gloves.  But we are not spending a dime, remember?  If you do not own shower gloves, you may use a washcloth.  A scruffy one is best, but any will do.

FOR NO MONEY, you can stimulate your immune system. You can jump start your lymphatic system, get it moving, and help rid your body of those pesky toxins that accumulate, hang around and make you feel less than perfect.  When there is any stress in life, it compromises the immune system.  When the immune system is not supported, the result is illness.

Here is the drill: Before you step into the shower or tub, take the time to dry brush your skin.  There is no right or wrong way to do this but it is more effective when you brush UP toward your tummy from the bottom and brush DOWN toward your tummy from the top.  If you have a roommate, you could ask the roomie to brush the back side of you, following the formula I gave you for the front:  UP toward the tummy from the bottom and DOWN toward your tummy from the top.  No roommate?  Use a bath towel to brush across your back and your bum.  This is not rocket science; no Body Police are coming to ticket you if you don’t do it the way a professional massage therapist would!  Allow yourself to have some fun with this!

What will happen is that your skin will appear more pink because by brushing your skin, you increase the circulation to the skin.  Additionally, it stimulates your immune system.  It feels good and refreshing.  When the water hits your skin, you’ll have a tingle and it should feel very invigorating!

When you come out of the shower or tub, dry your skin by patting it with a towel and pour a skimpy amount of EVOO–extra virgin olive oil–from your kitchen pantry in your palm and work it into your skin.  You will feel so velvety and soft and you’ll be a little healthier.

I should like to remind you, also, that to have really beautiful, healthy skin it is critical to drink clean, energizing water.  Showering and bathing can dry your skin.  The skin is hydrated from the inside out, so it really is important to keep your glass of water at hand so you’ll remember to take water in throughout your day. It’s another great way to support your immune system and take in some minerals anti-oxidants!

Another thing that can be problematic about showering is that you breathe in CHLORINE from the water supply.  You already know that chlorine is a deadly toxin.  That makes a strong case for short showers and whole house water systems.  If you are looking for good water, a great place to start your search would be with High Tech Health .

Then, whenever you are up for a splurge, purchase a pair of shower gloves in your favorite color!

Fake Sugar Sours Me!

Posted by admin on October 7th, 2008

I overheard a conversation the other day that upset my apple cart.  You know how women love to exchange recipes, don’t you?  Well, these women were all giddy about the FAKE SUGAR, artificial sweetener,  that comes in those little colored packets.  They fairly swooned over the fact that it could be used in place of sugar – spoonful for spoonful.

It wasn’t my conversation so I held my tongue.  But these people are feeding POISON to the people they love most, and themselves!  They are digging their own graves with their spoons.

The fact of the matter is that those well advertised products in the colored packets is pure waste, absolute toxicity.  Touted as ‘safe for diabetics’ the public flocks to purchase something new, something easy, something that is sugar-free and attractively packaged.

The news gets worse.  Get a load of THIS: regular sugar is being made now from genetically modified sugar beets!  No one knows the long term effects of GM foods but doesn’t anybody remember the old television commercial from eons ago that warned, “It’s not NICE to fool Mother Nature”?

People, we have GOT to get a grip!  We need to pay attention to what our bodies NEED, not what’s on sale, not what is processed, not necessarily what is being promoted.

We can save much more than dinner.  We can save ourselves the misery of who knows what by using real food-organic when you can get it-good clean water, trusted supplements and using our bodies wisely in exercise.

Pain Relief

Posted by admin on October 6th, 2008

It seems to me there are a lot of Americans suffering aches and pains.  This seems odd to me, considering how many remedies are available.  Here are just a few of my favorite recommendations if you are hurting:

#1.  WATER - Dr. Batmanhelidj determined while in jail that people who suffered with the agony of ulcers could alleviate the pain of the ailment by simply drinking more water!  And those incarcerated souls did not have the advantage of the good water we can have from High Tech Health .

#2.  EVOO – Rachel Ray cooks with extra virgin olive oil, but were she to rub it over sore muscles, the way the ancient Gladiators did., those achey muscles would find relief.   After all, Gladiators had no advantage of “over the counter” preparations!

#3.  CAYENNE – This fiery powder can be put into gelatin capsules and taken with milk.  I studied massage therapy under an instructor who swore this would take care of stomach ulcers in 30 days when taken at bedtime.  Foods prepared with Cayenne wil increase circulation and assist with discomfort in that way.  And it is cost effective!

#4.  MENTHOL – This is soothing and cooling.  Quite the opposite effect from #3…you can determine which is right FOR YOU by recognizing which is more appealing to you.  Some of us prefer heat, others prefer cool when we hurt.

#5.  ARNICA – You can buy ‘Arnica Montana’ in the homeopathic section of your health food store.  Place one under your tongue at the time of purchase, one that night, and one the next day.  If you hurt a LOT, use a dose of 1M.  If you are bruised, you might prefer to use a dose of 30X, which is smaller.  If you overuse a homeopathic remedy you will produce results that are opposite of what you are attempting to reach, so use with discretion.  Last night I bumped my hand on the corner of a desk and simply WROTE WITH MY FINGER the word: “Arnica 1M” .  The misery was gone INSTANTLY!

It is patently apparent that there are scandalously large numbers of those who suffer chronic pain.  While the above mentioned remedies can provide temporary relief it is important for you to understand why you have misery chronically.  For that I would like to offer that The Healing Codes can help you deal with healing the wounds in your heart that programmed your pain.

It goes without saying that organic food, pure water, exercise, deep breathing, massage therapy, cranio-sacral therapy and living your truth will all contribute to your overall health and well being.  It helps, also, to forgive, to give, and to cherish people in your life who matter to you.

Your humble blogger also has ideas about health and healing appearing on www.ezinearticles.com

Beyond these suggestions, you could also adopt our family’s “rule” which is:

that no one is allowed to hurt!
