Who doesn’t love to eat? People who gather talk about the weather but eventually the conversation turns to the topic of food, isn’t that so?
What to eat and how to prepare it can be a dilemma. Some people are working full time; they may even hold down two jobs just to keep body and soul together. Others don’t like to cook. There are folks who declare they have no time to shop for foodstuffs and furthermore, they may not know HOW to cook. I actually know people who insist they do not have a clue WHAT to purchase for their meals.
People like those risk their wealth AND their health by habitually eating in cafes, ordering take-out or plucking something from a grocer’s freezer to microwave.
SIDEBAR: Microwaving can be hazardous to your health and wealth. It is highly advisable NEVER, NEVER to use a microwave oven under any circumstances! END SIDEBAR.
But your humble blogger digresses.

Does your closet need to undergo an "Apparel Diet"?
One of my guilty pleasures is listening to radio shows with lots of conversation. I recently overheard a chat about a woman who was concerned about protecting her wealth so she proposed to her friends that they all endeavor to put themselves on an “Apparel Diet.”
They were mortified! Here’s why: No purchases of any clothing was allowed for any reason for one whole year. No new outfits. No new jewelry and no cheating-nothing could be purchased from a second hand store, a consignment shop or their neighbor’s yard sale! The friends were so sure they could not do it that they challenged themselves to go for one entire calendar year without buying one single article of clothing for themselves. The idea was to save money, delay gratification and be kind to the planet in the process. Besides, it gave them an entire year to cull their closets.
According to the woman whose idea it was, this was a gruelingly difficult task in the beginning. Everyone in the group maintained that online shopping would be undetected by the others but nobody could live with that kind of guilt. There were so many temptations. Some of the participants finally decided to put their credit cards into the freezer in a container of water just so credit would not be accessible when the cards froze!
After a year they were allowed to buy one item of clothing. Most chose to buy shoes. The most surprising things to this group was:
They could actually DO this
Most women wore out two pairs of jeans during the challenge year.
What do YOU think about an Apparel Diet? Could you do it? Do you need to curb your spending? Is your closet bulging? Your spouse’s?
We would love to hear your take on this subject. We at The Healthy and Wealthy You are sure that delaying gratification can be very healthy. Even though the economy begs for our consumer dollars to be spent, we might be wise to take a page from this group’s playbook and give it a try.
What will you do with YOUR unspent dollars?

You have to brush. Why not use something to make your teeth and gums healthier?
I know. Cleaning your teeth is a private matter. But here’s the deal: Toothpaste, no matter what color; tooth gels, no matter how thick, can’t do what ToothSoap can. It’s that simple.
Bar soap does not sound appealing. But the folks at ToothSoap have made shreds of teeth cleaner that do not taste nasty. The kind I am currently using taste of mint and fennel. It is a pleasure to polish my pearlies with those little shreds. And I’ve had that jar for a long time; I am totally AMAZED at the economical aspect of using ToothSoap!
Even better than that, my teeth are no longer sensitive to cold. I suspect that is because the shreds are helping my teeth to re-mineralize. This is good thing. Saves me lots of dollars on dental care.
You don’t have to take MY word for it. Here is Grania’s story:
“I’ve been using the ToothSoap for about three months now, and my teeth have never been this clean. And all the sensitivity I used to have is a thing of the past. But, the thing I like the most about it, and it was a result I got from ‘Day 1,’ is how clean & fresh my mouth is first thing in the morning when I wake up. No toothpaste or mouthwash ever did that for me, no matter what they promised in their adverts. So, yeah, I’m a convert now. and preaching the good news to all my friends.”

Since Mitch made a Guest Appearance here, I thought you might like to see the post I sent to Mitch. So, here it is, subject to your approval and comments.
“Creating a blog post for someone whose work you admire is akin to being a child, visiting a classroom where the teacher places you at the front of the room to introduce yourself. You think you would rather be having a root canal at that moment. You are embarrassed; you are not sure what to say. You feel certain that the friend who brought you to school is biting his lip and wishing his mother hadn’t MADE him bring you.
Internet marketing is the reason I have been closely following Mitch and ‘I’m Just Sharing.’ There is something endearing about every post he makes. I aspire for my blog posts to call people to action the way Mitch’s do. When Mitch extended the invitation for Guest Bloggers, I raised my hand and ‘Teacher’ called on me. I’m looking forward to reading what other Guest Bloggers have to say, for I fancy I can learn something from every post. The trick of course, will be remembering what I learn and implementing it properly.
The mother in me is compelled to admonish all internet marketers, including Mitch, to do two things and in the proper order. Remember, kids, I’m Just Sharing. grin
1. Take very good care of yourself
2. Take your marketing work very seriously but don’t take yourself so seriously.
Health and wealth walk hand in hand. If you lose your wealth but have your health, you can recover and resume. But if you lose your health, you also stand to lose your health as well. Doesn’t paint a very pretty picture, now, does it?
With a nod to #1 and taking good care of your body, let’s address how important- no, critical-it is to eat well and wisely; to remember to move away from the desk from time to time to move and play.
If you are fortunate to work at home where there are children-or fun loving adults, for that matter-you can schedule recess time! Go out of doors, jump rope, run, walk, turn cartwheels! Do whatever it takes to get your heart rate up and pop a sweat. Then you will be ready to go back to business and resume the creativity and discipline of work.
Your body needs water to keep all your cells functioning optimally, so keep handsome pitcher of water close by. Drop a wedge of fresh lemon in it to make it more tantalizing. And don’t be fooled into thinking that anything wet counts as water because if there is anything in the water, it isn’t really water any more. Don’t rely on coffee and other caffeine loaded beverages because those will dehydrate you and literally shrivel your brain.
Another facet of self care is to reward yourself for meeting your online goals. For example, when your new blog makes the first page of Google, you are entitled to have lunch at your favorite eatery that day. Or, you might have added 100 new names to your new list of subscribers. This calls for a hot chocolate break with your spouse or significant other! You need to figure out what floats your boat and use those things to motivate you. Some popular rewards include scalp massage, nail care, pizza, fresh flowers; new socks. You probably have your own list of what trips your trigger.
Let’s address item #2, taking your business seriously. If you are new to internet marketing, I would offer that a good coaching program would benefit you. You will learn skills you did not have previously and you will network with others who will enhance your journey.
I would also remind you of the recess idea from item #1. Being completely silly and operating with abandon for brief periods of time will increase your creativity and make you far more productive. “Do use discretion,” she warned.
Read other people’s blogs with sincere interest. Comment intelligently and thoughtfully, adding value to their site. Interact with the bloggers; get to know them. Attend every live event you can and take copious notes whenever you are on a conference call, webinar or brainstorming session with others. Partner with others to capitalize on one another’s’ strengths; offer added value in any way you are able to help others.
It has been an honor to present my ideas through Mitch’s blog. Here’s hoping some value was added to your life, even if it did not shake the earth.”

Are you home again after a hectic holiday with a lot of hubub?
Get a load of the grass in the photo above! And that tree, replete with blossoms? Makes you yearn all the more for Spring to replace these sub zero temps some areas are experiencing!
Ah, but if you WORK from home, it matters not a whit about the weather.
Over the holidays I met, via cyberspace, one of my favorite bloggers, Mitch. Bless his generous heart, he offered to whip out a guest blog post – which he DID, in jig time!
Here is what my blogger friend had to say. Mitch is the prolific author of “I’m Just Sharing” and he shares this with us:
‘ “Watch Out For Internet Marketing Scams”
There are a lot of people trying to make money on the internet these days. Some people have been able to do well, but the overwhelming majority of people really don’t do that well online.
That’s fine, because if everyone could make big money marketing online there wouldn’t be anyone left to buy what the rest of us are trying to sell. Don’t let a lack of success stop you from at least giving it the best shot you can. Truthfully, for what it costs in trying to become an internet marketer, it behooves everyone to at least take their shot at it, read a few books, and see what kind of success they might have.
There is something that troubles me here and there, I must admit. That issue is seeing people spending all kinds of money on things that may or may not work, but definitely will cost a heck of a lot of money towards a learning curve you may never recover from.
Making money online really isn’t all that easy. Know that fact up front. If you put that one in the front of your mind, then you’ll believe me when I say that any program or book that tells you it’s easy to make thousands of dollars on the internet daily or weekly is a scam, plain and simple. Things like Internet Millions, which dominates TV commercials, or Stores Online, which markets in every major city in the country and sends out free invitations to entice you to visit, are scams.
Understand this; the definition of the word “scam” doesn’t mean something might not work. It means you’re being told deceptive things to get you to buy act on something. Internet Millions costs you more long term than that $45 they tell you on TV. Stores Online at least tells you how much you’re going to be spending up front, but they also tell you that most people make back what they spend in a year, and it’s just not true.
The internet is filled with a lot of people who will take your money and give you almost nothing that’s good for you in the long run. Good information you can use doesn’t always come free. But some information will cost you more than you really want to deal with. You’ll feel disappointed and cheated and emotionally hurt and drained. Save yourself some time and grief; don’t fall for scams. Research everything before you buy. Spend your money wisely.
Now, get out there and make some money. ” ‘ –Mitch I’m Just Sharing - This is the blog I follow regularly.
People, you need to visit these URLs because Mitch over delivers content, has great ideas and is extremely knowledgeable. Thanks to you, Mitch, for a great guest post!
Because of your information we can all learn more about becoming wealthier and our health won’t suffer one bit!
Affiliate Marketing is one aspect of internet marketing. It’s all about selling other peoples’ stuff and it is a great idea-if it works well.
Is affiliate marketing working well for YOU? If so, you no doubt understand why. And we would be interested to have your comments on this page, if you’d be kind enough to chime in! If success has eluded you, are you interested to learn how to make it profitable and productive? Or, like so many others, will you throw your hands up and surrender?
People will wail, “It didn’t work for me. I tried it but I gave up because I couldn’t do it!”
Giving up is understandable but will not help you achieve profitability and it’s not really necessary. Let’s examine some of the elements of affiliate marketing and see if we can help you figure out what WILL work.
First and foremost, you must know that it is not the affiliate marketing that works; it is YOU.
If you know anything about real estate you have heard the expression “Location. Location. Location.” Location is EVERYTHING in real estate. With internet marketing in general and affiliate marketing in particular the cry is: “Preparation. Preparation. Preparation.
Ben Franklin said “By failing to prepare, you prepare to fail.”
People tend to want instant gratification so they think that by doing anything, even out of sequence, they will surely hit their mark. Think, “Ready. Aim. Fire.” People who are unprepared are likely to fire first and fail to aim or be ready.
Would-be affiliate marketers with home based businesses would be wise to lay out long term goals with short term goals for every step that needs to be taken. Beyond that, there need to be rewards in place for the completion of both long term and short term goals.
SIDEBAR: Make the rewards fit the goals. For example, if you finish three things on your Task List, you get to do the Happy Dance and meet a friend at the coffee shop. When you earn the dollar amount you have set for yourself, you get to turn cartwheels in the yard and spend a day at the beach. Or you get to buy a new book dealing with your niche. I’m sure you get the idea. END SIDEBAR.
Here is a great idea from one of the Top Gurus, an internet marketer who is proficient in affiliate marketing:
He uses a white board to post his goals and his tasks. As each one is accomplished he erases it, does the Chicken Dance, and eats waffles at his local hangout. For the bigger goals, he eats Chinese. That’s HIS thing; what is YOURS?
Don’t get your knickers in a twist when you miss your mark. Reset your goal, tweak your priorities, keep at it and prepare like never before!
Commitment is a huge factor in the success of any endeavor. Internet marketing, affiliate marketing is no different in that way. If you are not committed to your preparation and learning and success, who will do it for you? Commitment cannot be outsourced nor can its importance be underestimated.
When you are committed, consistency will be a given. You cannot expect to post on your blog with your affiliate links and then wait a week or a month to re-post. Your lack of commitment and your lack of enthusiasm will be patently obvious to visitors of your site.
There is a great deal more to affiliate marketing than we can cover in this post so you can expect much more in the days and weeks to come. We leave you with the admonition to keep on keepin’ on and stay prepared!
We ask for your comments because your experience and wisdom can help others. As always, we are grateful for comments; you are reminded the comments are moderated.
Connie Baum *The FTC wants me to tell you that if the links in this post are clicked and that results in a sale, I would be compensated. They worry about this much more than is necessary in my case.
Point, Click and watch your PayPal account get fat?
Not quite.
Affiliate Marketing, or selling other peoples’ stuff can be raised to an art form. If it’s done correctly it can yield someone who’s interested in working from home or anyone who wants to make money online a good living.
But it’s not for the faint of heart. And no matter what claims you may have heard, it is NOT for the lazy. Anyone who has the gumption to take action and follow through can make something happen for himself!
There are numerous ways to promote the products you choose. You can write articles and submit them to article directories; you can promote things by using an ebook loaded with your affiliate links and you can bring attention to your affiliate products with press releases, social networking; even pay per click campaigns.
Video is ginormous and in order to be in the loop, video skills are a MUST LEARN. I know whereof I speak. I promise you it is on my radar and my To Do List.
It’s important to have the proper elements in place to make Affiliate Marketing the profit maker you desire. Squeeze pages, opt in boxes, one time offers, thank-you pages and autoresponder messages are absolute necessities if you hope to make money online.
Under the heading of “This is how to git ‘er done” you’d want to list consistent blog posting; quality article and blog post content; value; added value; over delivering to your prospects and customers; impeccable integrity and quality affiliate products in ‘white hot’ niches.
This would be daunting without the support of a good help desk. Are you interested in understanding Affiliate Marketing from the inside out? If so, I can link you up with the best coaching program in cyberspace. Check it out HERE.
Life’s a journey. Sometimes it takes us uphill; it can even bring us down. We all need something to keep us going and we could really use some help along the way.
Is your health suffering because you have concerns about money?
Could you use an extra $150.00 this week?
I’d like for you to watch a video that can change your life. I’m not exactly sure how long the video will be up for you to watch, so my best advice to you is to go scope it out ASAP.
